Total neutrino and antineutrino nuclear cross sections around 1 GeV
We investigate neutrino-nucleus interactions at energies around 1 GeV. In this regime, the main contributions to the cross sections come from quasi-elastic and ∆ production processes. Our formalism, based on the Impulse Approximation is well suited to describe both types of interactions. We focus on a series of important nuclear effects in the interaction of electron neutrinos with 16O, also re...
متن کاملthe relationship between learners critical thinking ability and their performance in the reading sections of the tofel and ielts test
the study reflected in this thesis aims at finding out relationships between critical thinking (ct), and the reading sections of tofel and ielts tests. the study tries to find any relationships between the ct ability of students and their performance on reading tests of tofel and academic ielts. however, no research has ever been conducted to investigate the relationship between ct and the read...
15 صفحه اولMeasuring Elastic Scattering in the Coulomb Nuclear Interference (CNI) Region in ATLAS – Total Cross Sections and Luminosity
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will provide proton-proton collisions for the experiments installed at the interaction points (IP). The ATLAS detector is designed to detect high pt reactions and will focus on the discovery of the Higgs boson and new physics. However ATLAS is now also complemented by detectors in the very forward region to measure small angle elastic scattering. This will give a...
متن کاملPhoton Total Cross - sections
We discuss present predictions for the total γγ and γp cross-sections, highlighting why predictions differ. We present results from the Eikonal Minijet Model and improved predictions based on soft gluon resummation.
متن کاملTotal, elastic and diffractive cross sections at LHC in the Miettinen–Pumplin model
Predictions for the total, elastic and single diffractive cross sections calculated for the LHC in the framework of the Miettinen-Pumplin model are presented. The total cross section is expected to be 15% smaller than that determined by Donnachie and Landshoff in the model with soft pomeron. The diffractive cross section is almost constant in the Tevatron–LHC energy range.
